About Me
Hi, I'm Beth Maguire!
A marketing and media student at Macquarie University with a love for all things strategic and creative that are outside the box!
I'm passionate about bringing ideas to life, whether that's developing a campaign concept, creating engaging social media content or finding new ways for brands to connect with their audiences. I love the balance between creativity and strategy, and understanding what makes people stop scrolling, pay attention and engage with a brand.
I'm always looking for opportunities to learn, challenge myself and turn ideas into something exciting. As I approach the end of my degree, I'm excited to take the next step in my marketing career and continue doing what I love most! Getting creative, connecting with people and bringing fresh ideas to the table!
A little more about me...
I'd describe myself as confident, friendly, honest and driven, with a love for staying organised. Outside of work and uni, you'll usually find me at the gym, out on a long walk, exploring somewhere new or reading a good book. I enjoy keeping busy, meeting new people and taking on new challenges.
As I take the next step in my marketing career, I'm looking forward to building on my experience and continuing to develop my skills.
My Work
Boost Juice Internship
As part of Boost Juice’s Boost Your Career internship program, I was selected as one of four interns to visit the Melbourne Head Office and gain hands-on experience across different areas of the business. Throughout the internship, I worked alongside industry professionals, gained insight into marketing strategy and campaign development, and developed my own product campaign concept, The Kiwi Phase, which I presented to the team. This experience strengthened my creativity, commercial thinking and understanding of how marketing ideas are brought to life within an established brand.
Assistant Manager
Boost Juice
-
As Assistant Manager at Boost Juice, I have gained hands-on marketing experience through managing our store’s social media presence, creating fun and engaging content, and designing promotional posters for local store initiatives. My role involves bringing national campaigns to life at a local level, promoting new product launches and finding creative ways to connect with customers while maintaining Boost Juice’s brand identity. Alongside my marketing responsibilities, I lead a team of over 10 employees, combining my creativity and passion for marketing with strong leadership and communication skills.
Bachelor of Marketing and Media
Macquarie University
Throughout my Bachelor of Marketing and Media at Macquarie University, I've had the opportunity to work on a range of creative and strategic projects, developing skills in campaign planning, brand strategy, audience research and content creation. I've particularly enjoyed taking on creative leadership roles, from developing initial concepts and directing video projects to editing final content on platforms including Canva and Capcut. These experiences have allowed me to combine my creativity with strategic thinking and gain practical experience across different areas of marketing and media.
When Did Wellness Become a Performance? | Social Media & Video Production
For this assignment, I independently planned, filmed and edited a five-minute YouTube-style video exploring how fitness and wellness influencers use social media to create curated online identities. Drawing on my understanding of TikTok trends, influencer culture, audience behaviour and social media algorithms, I examined how content that appears authentic can often be carefully constructed.
Using CapCut, I edited together original footage, voiceovers, social media examples, captions and transitions to create an engaging, visually appealing video. I also developed a creative opening hook inspired by popular morning routine trends to capture viewers' attention. This project allowed me to demonstrate my understanding of social media storytelling, platform-specific content, audience engagement and video editing, while combining academic research with a creative approach.
When the Sky Turns Red | Integrated Marketing Communications
For this assignment, I developed my own integrated marketing campaign, When the Sky Turns Red, aimed at encouraging Australians to take action on bushfire preparedness before it's too late. Drawing on audience research, I created a campaign targeting both younger and older Australians through social media, television advertising, interactive activations and traditional media.
I designed and brought the campaign presentation together using Canva, while using Adobe to edit the video advertisement. This project allowed me to combine creative storytelling, visual design and video editing with strategic campaign planning, bringing my own campaign concept to life from start to finish.
Inclusive Communication | Video Production & Group Leadership
For this group project, we developed an interactive training activity focused on inclusive communication in the workplace. I took on a creative leadership role, overseeing the video's production, designing the presentation visuals and coordinating the filming of voiceovers.
Using Canva, I created and edited the video from scratch, bringing together visuals, transitions and audio to produce an engaging and informative final piece. This project allowed me to demonstrate my creativity, video editing and visual storytelling skills, while strengthening my ability to lead creative tasks and collaborate effectively within a team.
Marketing Practices Collage | Brand Analysis & Video Production
For this assignment, I created a marketing video collage exploring how five well-known brands apply different marketing strategies in real-world environments.
Through filming and analysing examples of branding, customer engagement, loyalty programs and in-store experiences, I explored how marketing theory translates into everyday business practices. I also evaluated each brand's approach and identified opportunities to strengthen its marketing strategy.
This project allowed me to combine my understanding of brand strategy, consumer behaviour and marketing communications with visual storytelling, presenting complex marketing concepts in an engaging and accessible format.
